PREPARE TO EXPLORE

With so many people obsessed with the pink sand beaches of southern Bermuda, few people ever venture north to explore the beautiful beach in Sandy’s Parish. I was privileged enough to spend time exploring Sandy’s Parish and its beautiful beaches with my wife, Abby, on a recent trip. Daniel’s Head Beach Park As I’ve already written, Daniel’s Head Beach Park is beloved by locals and overlooked (thankfully) by tourists. Daniel’s Head Beach Park is located in the western peninsula of Sandy’s Parish. Surrounded by an abandoned eco-tourism resort, Daniel’s Head is an absolutely beautiful beach with clean water and ZERO crowds. We had the beach to ourselves over the course of several days. There are picnic tables, which makes for easy, fun packed lunches. Expert tip: Make sure to bring your own food and drinks, as the amenities (including bathrooms) were closed when we visited. But don’t be turned away, Daniel’s Head Beach Park is a hidden Bermuda gem. Long Bay Beach A 15 to 20 minute walk from Daniel’s Head Beach Park will bring you to Long Bay Beach. The beach has great views of the surrounding area, picnic tables, a playground and Porta Potties. The water temperature was perfect and the beach was long enough to be able to go for short walks. We met a very nice mother-daughter group while enjoying the sunshine at Long Bay Beach. Expert tip: No nearby food or drinks. Cambridge Beaches This is a controversial pick only because my wife and I enjoyed the great amenities at the Cambridge Beaches Resort and Spa without ever actually staying there or paying for anything. We were walking the coastline when we came up on Cambridge Beaches. The villas were beautiful, there were chairs on the beaches and there was a bar nearby. I’m sure Cambridge Beaches does not want people strolling into their resort and enjoying their beaches without paying for it. But we did. And it was great. Since it was off season, the staff didn’t hassle us. The beach itself was great. Clean. Well-managed. Great for snorkeling. Are there any beaches I missed? Comment below!
